Study Abroad

Northland College is excited to promote travel, volunteering and working abroad.  Anyone is invited to explore these options:

​

• AmeriSpan Study Abroad (for programs all over the world and especially in Spain and Latin America)

• Transitions Abroad (seasonal jobs, work opportunities, and cheap lodging all over the planet)

• Peace Corps

Northland College also has partnerships with the following programs:

​

• CELL – Center for Ecological Living and Learning

CELL is a nonprofit educational organization inspiring students to become sustainability leaders and activists. Through participation in a CELL program, students learn that the problems we face are big, but that the solutions are BIGGER! CELL offers study abroad programs in Central America and Ecuador.

• EcoLeague

The EcoLeague is a consortium of liberal arts colleges dedicated to ecologically focused education, and to modeling sustainability through their operations and facilities. Member colleges span the United States and offer students exchange opportunities to learn in diverse ecosystems and communities with faculty who have a wide range of disciplinary and regional expertise. Through the EcoLeague, students also have opportunities to participate in study abroad programs that include Spanish-speaking countries.

• HECUA - Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs

HECUA employs a philosophy of education that speaks openly of values for justice in our classrooms and communities. HECUA students build the skills, knowledge, and networks they need to be engaged citizens and active change-makers. HECUA offers study abroad programs in Ecuador.

• Round River Conservation Studies

Round River employs the principles of conservation biology to formulate strategies that provide partner communities, organizations and governments a well-founded scientific basis for their long-term conservation efforts. Round River also believes that wild landscapes are powerful educators, and their environmental study abroad programs involve small groups of students in finding and implementing solutions to wildlife conservation and sustainability issues. Round River offers programs in both Central and Southern America.
